Bizarre consequences of time travel

According to the latest quantum theory pertaining to time travel which was posted to the Weird Events blog, it may be possible to go back in time, but if so, it would be impossible to change any event whose outcome you know. So, for example, if you knew about the Protestant Reformation, something would always stop you from preventing it. If you were unaware of it, however, you might be able to. Strange!

I think that time travel itself is impossible for the opposite of that reason, which I find contradictory: You can travel into the past but cannot(?) change any event to effect the future for better or for worse.

Thus, my reasons against the possibility of time travel are metaphysical and moral not scientific.

Nonetheless, if someone could travel back in time and change things, then you would not know of it or might not exist (if such a change impacted your existence), because the events of the time-line would change. (With acknowledgment to Star Trek and its offshoot series)

I'm glad to find this idea supported.

Similarly, I think it's licit to pray for the outcome of some event in the past, provided you don't yet know how the event turned out.
