The American Family Association is calling for a boycott of Target over Thanksgiving weekend because they have banned "Merry Christmas" and Salvation Army kettles. Sign a petition here, if you wish.

I seem to recall that Target banned the Salvation Army last year, too.

As usual lately, the AFA's complaint is half-baked by the time it starts circulating. Target and the Salvation Army worked out a nice deal this year by which Target customers can donate goods to the Salvation Army for distribution to disaster victims.

Boycotting a business and a charity for respecting and including non-Christians? Sign me up. We need more disrespect and exclusion in this country!

I'm not sure what the problem is. I was under the impression that people and buisnesses alike had these things called freedom of religion and freedom of speech. I think this is just another way for the religious right to shove Christianity down our throats. I personally am an atheist but I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions, ideas, and religious beliefs. And like Larry the Cable Guy says..."What the hell is this Russia?"

to all who do not want to hear MERRY ChRISTMAS !

I would think that if one did not want to hear "Merry Christmas" that one would not want to get that Christmas BONUS from his/her employer ?!when they try to give it to you , just "SAY NO! i do believe there is enough room for all people and the ideas which they follow , but not when A FEW , want to change what SO MANY more want to accept and follow . and for the small few ,stop the EXTREME LIBERAL CRAP PEOPLE ! AND STOP ACCEPTING THE MONEY THAT HAS "GOD" ON IT ! live off the land and you will not need that ol money !
GOD BLESS THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA !!!!
