St. Bernadette's Body after 122 years!
These are the pictures of St. Bernadette Soubirous who died 122 years ago in Lourdes, France and was buried, her incorrupt body was discovered after the church officials decided to examine it. Her body is still fresh until today and if you ever go to Nevers, France, you can see her body in the convent in Nevers.
She looks like she hasn't even been buried yet!
Many miracles have taken place in this place of Lourdes and still do until today.
What a marvelous testimony to our faith and to the truth of Jesus. I love the incorruptibles. It's just a beautiful sign of the Resurrection to come and a fulfillment of the prophecy, "And I will not suffer my Holy One to see decay."

Among the detritus in my head is a vague memory of the exposed parts of her body being covered with wax masks/coverings. Ah - google her name in quotes followed by the word wax. I dunno how thick the wax covering is - maybe it's virtually transparent?

It's not entirely transparent. Her skin was washed after each exhumation, and as a result it darkened. This is the reason for the thin covering of wax. That said, she remains incorrupt.
This business about her being exhumed only 30 years ago is not correct, however. She was exhumed maybe 30 years after her burial; there are photos that exist of that, and they are used as a source of wonder, since the rosary with which she was buried rusted, indicating the presence of humidity (which should have led to her body's decay).
In addition, she lies not at Lourdes (I've been there), but at Nevers, the motherhouse of the convent she joined. See this page at Wikipedia, but feel free to ignore the snarky remarks by some anti-Catholic(s).

I AM 38 YEARS OLD NOW AND I HAVE MY DEGREE IN THE MOURTUARY SCIENCES AND I TRY TO BE MORE UNDERSTAND OF OTHER PEOPLE NEEDS AND I TRY TO GO OUT OF MY WAY TO HELP THEM LIKE THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE HELPED ME IN THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS OF MY LIFE...
