Panned, panned, panned, alleluia!

The Da Vinci Code is being eviscerated by critics (thanks to Paul Croarkin for the link). I'm not sure I'm even going to bother with Over the Hedge. What a disaster! Ha!

Who would cast Tom Hanks in an action role anyway? Harrison Ford he's not ... Tom is more of the quiet, self-effacing, awkward type.

I suggest still going to Over the Hedge. Reviews are one way Hollywood judges a movie. Ticket sales are another. A lot of people will still see it, despite the generally bad reviews.

The reviews I've seen of Over the Hedge looked awful, too.

Personally, I judge movies only partially on reviews...and any movie with Sir Ian in it automatically overrides bad reviews.

Over the Hedge was light, sappy fun, and the reviews at rottentomatoes.com are generally favorable.

Sappy fun really isn't my type of thing...I tend to get saccharine poisoning from such films. I'm a cynic at heart--happily ever afters just don't affect me much.

Anyway, trailers are on-line at the movie site.
