Newsweek has an article on how Obama is reaching out to religious people to address their concerns, one of which is his association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. Apparently Obama, who before overlooked Wright's peculiar opinions as he would a crazy relative's, has definitively severed ties with him and denounced his rantings, seeing what a liability they were to his campaign. It's about time, I say.

So let's pretend that rather than Obama having attended this church for 20 years and sat through all those sermons, he's like every other politician - he rarely ever went there, just claims membership, so we discount Wright and just call Obama a holiday-Christian.
In Pennsylvania, he stated that people cling to religion (and guns) because they're biter. How does the Christifideles readership feel about that? Do you cling to religion due to bitterness?
I cling to my faith (I don't call what I have religion, religion is a bad word in my circle) out of hope and a future, not bitterness unless you call it bitterness towards Satan.
