I am back, was out of town for the weekend (wedding of a close friend) and had planned on doing some blogging but thanks to my nefarious rabbit my notebook power supply cable shorted out, then I couldn't remember my username and password for the blog to access it from a public computer. (These automatic password programs are nice but you can forget your passwords when you are elsewhere.)
I was in St. Paul, MN and got to experience the detour around the I-35 bridge collapse without even realizing why it was there. I had totally forgotten that the bridge collapse was in Minneapolis. In another irony, I passed by the restroom where Sen. Larry Craig was nicked and didn't realize that at the time either. Weird weekend.
I got home and had time for one more peach harvest. Filled up my remaining half-pint jars and canned them. Dehydrated a few as well. I feel fulfilled even though I have about three one-pint jars left. (I'm not going to eat a full pint of peaches at a time so I'm less interested in those. Theoretically I could fill them to make cobbler but it doesn't seem likely I'll do that.) That leaves me with 6 1/2 pints (one jar failed to seal due to my neglecting to wipe it, and after inadverently blowing the syrup to kingdom come in the microwave in my attempts to reseal it, I opted to throw the contents in the dehydrator instead.)
