Here is a story I heard about Fr. Benedict Groeschel today on an earlier Catholic Answers Live podcast.
Seems he was asked by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to address a conference on poverty and justice. When it was his turn to speak, he got up and said, "Isn't it ironic that they asked me to speak at a conference on poverty while they put me up in a fancy five-star hotel with a room big enough to hold fifty homeless people?" I'll bet he wasn't invited back! Talk about a straight shooter! Of course, if I were organizing it, would I have thought any different? I would hope that I'd know better than to put in a hotel room a man who invented his own order because his religious order (which are all supposed to live poverty) wasn't radically impoverished enough. But who knows?
